Video: Mellanox HDR InfiniBand makes inroads on the TOP500

In this video from ISC 2019, Gilad Shainer from Mellanox describes how HDR InfiniBand technology is proliferating across the TOP500 list of the world’s most powerful supercomputers. “HDR 200G InfiniBand made its debut on the list, accelerating four supercomputers worldwide, including the fifth top-ranked supercomputer in the world located at the Texas Advanced Computing Center, which also represents the fastest supercomputer built in 2019.”

Diagnose Network Problems Faster with Mellanox WJH Technology

Today Mellanox announced an advanced Network Telemetry technology that provides visibility into Data Plane Anomalies – for public cloud, private cloud and enterprise computing. “What Just Happened (WJH) is a new intelligent monitoring technology that goes well beyond conventional streaming telemetry and Inband Network Telemetry (INT) offerings. Every customer who has tried WJH has been amazed at how quickly they were able to discover behavior they never knew was occurring in their network.”

WekaIO Beats Big Systems on the IO-500 10 Node Challenge

Today WekaIO announced record performance on the IO-500 10 Node Challenge benchmark. The Virtual Institute for I/O has placed WekaIO Matrix in first place on the IO-500 10 Node Challenge list, beating out massive supercomputer installations. VI4IO republished the 10 Node Challenge list with the new rankings indicating Matrix as number one—31 percent faster than IBM Spectrum Scale and 85 percent faster than DDN Lustre.

Mellanox Rolls Out World’s Fastest Ethernet Storage Fabric Controller

Today Mellanox rolled out new BlueField-based storage controllers, offering “ultra-high performance” for Ethernet Storage Fabrics. “These BlueField storage controllers tightly-integrate flash connectivity, networking, and Arm processors to maximize performance and efficiency, while eliminating the need for a separate CPU in storage and hyperconverged appliances. This makes them perfect for connecting and virtualizing the fastest non-volatile storage.”

Mellanox Launches Ground-Breaking Open Hyper-Scalable Enterprise Framework

Today Mellanox announced the Mellanox Hyper-scalable Enterprise Framework, the industry’s first truly scalable, open framework for private cloud and enterprise data centers. “With the advent of open platforms and open networking it is now possible for even modestly sized organizations to build data centers like the hyperscalers do,” said Kevin Deierling, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “We are confident and excited to release the Mellanox Hyper-scalable Enterprise Framework to the industry – and to provide an open, intelligent, high performance, accelerated and fully converged network to enable enterprise and private cloud architects to build a world class data center.”

Mellanox powers NVIDIA DGX-2 AI Supercomputer

Today Mellanox announced that the company’s InfiniBand and Ethernet solutions have been chosen to accelerate the new NVIDIA DGX-2 artificial intelligence system. DGX-2 is the first 2 Petaflop system that combines sixteen GPUs and eight Mellanox ConnectX adapters, supporting both EDR InfiniBand and 100 gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The technological advantages of the Mellanox adapters with smart acceleration engines enable the highest performance for AI and Deep Learning applications.
