InfiniCortex and the Renaissance in Polish Supercomputing

“Over the past two years, InfiniCortex has clearly demonstrated that IB can perform over trans-continental distances, exploiting this technology to create a “Galaxy of Supercomputers,” a worldwide IB network spanning sites across Asia, Europe and North America. Initiated and led by A*STAR CRC in Singapore, the project hit its first major breakthrough at SC14, showcasing a first-time-ever 100G IB transcontinental connection from Singapore to the SC14 venue in New Orleans.”

Obsidian Introduces Global InfiniBand Fabrics

In this video, Dr. David Southwell from Obsidian Strategics discusses conventional InfiniBand technology and goes on to describe how the company’s Longbow, Crossbow and Bowman devices enable what is generally considered as an ‘indoor use only’ protocol to be deployed at scale with security over global distances. The resulting Global InfiniBand Fabrics can be used for a variety of purposes including technical computing, big data migration and streaming distribution.

Interview: A*STAR to Spotlight Singapore at ISC High Performance

The ISC High Performance conference brings out the very best in international supercomputing, and this year will be no exception with a host of content focused on HPC in Asia. Singapore has been a hotbed of HPC activity of late, so we caught up with Marek Michalewicz, who was recently named Chief Executive Officer at A*STAR Computational Resource Centre.
