Today Univa announced availability of its much anticipated Preemption feature for Univa Grid Engine. Preemption, in combination with Universal Resource Broker, gives users the unprecedented ability to “pause” workload, services, or containers in the system on a moment’s notice in order to run a higher priority application. This is the first time a preemption feature has been able to work with big data applications.
New UCX Network Communication Framework for Next-Gen Programming Models

Building on a proven partnership, HP will resell Seagate’s ClusterStor 1500 and 9000 appliances along with its HPC solutions. This partnership will support HP’s Apollo portfolio of products and services, which manage HPC workloads in complex computing environments.”
