Staying at the Cutting Edge of Automotive Design Technology with Azure Cloud Platform and AMD

[SPONSORED CONTENT]   In automotive, first movers have a massive advantage. Success in the industry centers on vehicle R&D, at the core of which is design, performance and crash safety multi-physics software. Generating remarkably true-to-life simulations, these applications quicken vehicle time-to-market, allowing engineers to sample more design options and conduct more virtual tests in less time. […]

ANSYS to Acquire LSTC

Today ANSYS announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Livermore Software Technology Corporation (LSTC), the premier provider of explicit dynamics and other advanced finite element analysis technology. Once closed, the acquisition will empower ANSYS customers to solve a new class of engineering challenges, including developing safer automobiles, aircraft and trains while reducing or even eliminating the need for costly physical testing.

Rescale to Offer On-Demand LS-DYNA Licenses in Europe

Today Rescale announced that hourly, on-demand licenses of the popular finite element analysis software LS-DYNA are now available in Europe on ScaleX Enterprise, Rescale’s enterprise cloud platform for big compute. The announcement builds on the growth of on-demand licensing in the United States, which accounts for 99% of LS-DYNA jobs on ScaleX in that country. DYNAmore, an LS-DYNA European distributor, will take care of orders and billing, while Rescale will deliver the software on its cloud platform.

Mellanox InfiniBand Delivers up to 250 Percent Higher ROI for HPC

Today Mellanox announced that EDR 100Gb/s InfiniBand solutions have demonstrated from 30 to 250 percent higher HPC applications performance versus Omni-Path. These performance tests were conducted at end-user installations and Mellanox benchmarking and research center, and covered a variety of HPC application segments including automotive, climate research, chemistry, bioscience, genomics and more.

Cray XC30 Powers LS-DYNA at Stalprodukt

Today Cray announced that Stalprodukt S.A., a leading global steel processor, purchased a Cray XC30 supercomputer for structural analysis modeling used in the testing of steel designs.

Best Practices Demonstrate Record Performance on LS-DYNA

Over at the Mellanox Blog, Scot Schultz writes that a new HPCAC Best Practices Paper shows record application performance for LS-DYNA Automotive Crash Simulation.
