Asperitas and Shell to showcase new immersion cooling solutions at OCP Virtual Summit

Immersion cooling specialist Asperitas and Shell will launch Shell Immersion Cooling Fluid S5 X at the Open Compute Project (OCP) Virtual Summit, May 12-15. Asperitas has also added an additional immersion cooling solution to their current portfolio. The solution is making use of the same natural convection driven circulation concept as the solution introduced to the market in 2017, but with increased IT capacity. The solution is designed to address the demand for high density and performance compute across various markets including hyperscale cloud, enterprise class and telecom.

Inspur Launches Open AI Computing Solution

Today Inspur announced a pair of AI-technology driven open computing systems designed to improve the flexibility in customer deployments. “The OAI specification—led by Baidu, Facebook, and Microsoft in the OCP (Open Compute Project) community—unifies the technical specifications of the accelerator module and simplifies the design complexity of the AI accelerator system, thereby shortening time to market for the hardware system.”

Immersive Cooling from Submer Technologies coming to EU Joint Research Center in Italy

In a collaborative effort with Airbus, Submer Technologies and 2CRSi are providing supercomputer-speed processing in high-density clusters to support real-time workloads for advanced Artificial Intelligence (AR) cybersecurity research applications at the JRC campus. “This is one of our most important installations yet. It’s a mission-critical, high-density compute environment where physical space and energy compliance are important considerations,” said Daniel Pope, CEO of Submer. “We designed the SmartPod to address all of these issues – making this project a perfect use-case for our liquid immersion cooling platform.”
