Quobyte Distributed File System adds TensorFlow Plug-In for Machine Learning

Today Quobyte announced that the company’s Data Center File System is the first distributed file system to offer a TensorFlow plug-in, providing increased throughput performance and linear scalability for ML-powered applications to enable faster training across larger data sets while achieving higher-accuracy results. “By providing the first distributed file system with a TensorFlow plug-in, we are ensuring as much as a 30 percent faster throughput performance improvement for ML training workflows, helping companies better meet their business objectives through improved operational efficiency,” said Bjorn Kolbeck, Quobyte CEO.

Quobyte to showcase software defined storage for Machine Learning at GTC

Quobyte Partners with EUROstor to Deliver Scale-Out NAS Solutions

Today Quobyte announced a partnership with EUROstor to expand the reach of its next-generation file system throughout the German, Austrian and Swiss marketplace to customers seeking scale-out NAS solutions for enterprise application workloads. “With scale-out NAS solutions becoming increasingly important within our market, Quobyte is an exciting expansion of our storage product portfolio,” said Wolfgang Bauer, technical director of EUROstor. “With Quobyte’s flexibility, scalability and high performance, we can easily deliver storage solutions that are purpose-built to satisfy our customers’ needs. We trust there are a lot more interesting projects to come.”

NEC and Quobyte Power HPC Storage at HLRS in Germany

Today NEC Deutschland GmbH and Quobyte announced the deployment of a complete storage solution at HLRS in Germany. The HLRS facility is one of the top 20 supercomputing sites in the world and is amongst the top three in Germany. The facility is used by researchers and industry groups who typically run HPC workloads focused on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Physics, Transport and Climate, Structural Mechanics, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, and Electrical Engineering.

NEC and Quobyte team up for HPC Storage

Today Quobyte and NEC Deutschland GmbH announced a partnership to develop a complete HPC storage solution stack based on NEC HPC hardware and Quobyte’s Data Center File System software. “Quobyte’s full stack Data Center File System combined with their HPC hardware system results in a much needed storage solution that will help to eliminate the bottlenecks and pricing traps of legacy hardware-based storage while providing the performance, security, and ease of operation of modern hyperscale architectures.”

Quobyte Joins STAC Benchmark Council to help Financial Services Solve Storage Challenges

Today hyperscale storage provider Quobyte announced that it has accepted an invitation to join the Securities Technology Analysis Center (STAC) Benchmark Council, an influential group of technologists in the finance industry. “Quobyte provides massively scalable software storage to allow the industry to take advantage of the insights they can gain from the extensive amount of historical trading data they have collected,” said Björn Kolbeck, Quobyte’s CEO and Co-Founder. “We’ve found that Quobyte storage software running on a cluster of industry standard whitebox servers can significantly reduce time spent on backtesting — literally converting time saved into money.”
