Inspur Re-Elected as Member of SPEC OSSC and Chair of SPEC Machine Learning

The Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) has finalized the election of new Open System Steering Committee (OSSC) executive members, which include Inspur, Intel, AMD, IBM, Oracle and three other companies. “It is worth noting that Inspur, a re-elected OSSC member, was also re-elected as the chair of the SPEC Machine Learning (SPEC ML) working group. The development plan of ML test benchmark proposed by Inspur has been approved by members which aims to provide users with standard on evaluating machine learning computing performance.”

WekaIO Matrix Cluster Excels on SPEC SFS 2014 Benchmark

Today WekaIO announced the results of the independent SPEC SFS 2014 benchmark testing of its flagship WekaIO Matrix product. “Having established itself in the number one position for the SPEC SFS 2014 software build in January 2019, WekaIO has now posted winning results for all remaining benchmarks in the SPEC test suite. Introducing the SPEC High Performance Group and HPC Benchmark Suites

Robert Henschel from Indiana University gave this talk at the Swiss HPC Conference. “In this talk, I will present an overview of the High Performance Group as well as SPEC’s benchmarking philosophy in general. Most everyone knows SPEC for the SPEC CPU benchmarks that are heavily used when comparing processor performance, but the High Performance Group specifically focusses on whole system benchmarking utilizing the parallelization paradigms common in HPC, like MPI, OpenMP and OpenACC.”

CIARA Announces World-record SPEC Performance

Today CIARA announced that its ORION HF servers have achieved record performance on 18 SPEC CPU 2006 benchmarks. According to the company, CIARA’s complete ORION HF server line achieved top ranks in every CPU category when compared to manufacturers such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Supermicro.
