New Weka AI framework to accelerate Edge to Core to Cloud Data Pipelines

Today WekaIO introduced Weka AI, a transformative storage solution framework underpinned by the Weka File System (WekaFS) that enables accelerated edge-to-core-to-cloud data pipelines. Weka AI is a framework of customizable reference architectures (RAs) and software development kits (SDKs) with leading technology alliances like NVIDIA, Mellanox, and others in the Weka Innovation Network (WIN). “GPUDirect Storage eliminates IO bottlenecks and dramatically reduces latency, delivering full bandwidth to data-hungry applications,” said Liran Zvibel, CEO and Co-Founder, WekaIO.

WekaIO Receives Artificial Intelligence Excellence Award

Today WekaIO announced that The Business Intelligence Group has named Weka a winner in its Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards program. “the WekaFS file system can deliver 80 GB/sec of bandwidth to a single GPU server, scale to Exabytes in a single namespace, and support an entire pipeline for edge-to-core-to-cloud workflows. The system also delivers operational agility with versioning, explainability, and reproducibility along with governance and compliance with in-line encryption and data protection.”

Student Teams Encouraged to Join the 3rd APAC HPC-AI Competition

Student teams are encouraged to apply for the 2020 APAC HPC-AI Competition. Continuing the success of the previous competitions, student teams will square off against international teams to produce solutions and applications in the High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence domains. “We hope that the HPC-AI training established among our young aspiring programmers can help us tackle global threats such as COVID-19 and accelerate an improved response to future pandemics.” 

WekaIO Accelerates 5 Million Genomes Project at Genomics England

Today WekaIO announced that Genomics England (GEL) has selected the Weka File System (WekaFS) to accelerate genomics research for the 5 Million Genomes Project. “We needed a modern storage solution that could scale to 100s petabytes while maintaining performance scaling, and it had to be simple to manage at that scale. Aiden Lab Chooses WEKA to Accelerate Genomics Research

Today WekaIO announced that Aiden Lab at the Baylor College of Medicine, a leading genome research facility, has selected the Weka File System (WekaFS) to accelerate its genomics research. “WekaFS has delivered a 3x improvement in performance at Aiden Lab and is enabling it to use its cloud infrastructure more effectively. Penguin Computing Breaks STAC-M3 Performance Records with WekaIO

Today Penguin Computing and WekaIO announced record performance on the STAC-M3 Benchmark. The STAC-M3 Antuco and Kanaga Benchmark Suites are the industry standard for testing solutions that enable high-speed analytics on time series data, such as tick-by-tick market data. “By combining Penguin Computing Relion servers and FrostByte Storage with the WekaIO File System, the companies have affirmed that this integrated solution is ideal for algorithmic trading and quantitative analysis workloads, common in financial services.”
