The twelfth international Women in HPC workshop has issued its Call for Posters. The half-day WHPC workshop takes place June 25 at ISC20 in Frankfurt, Germany. “We are encouraging women who consider themselves to be ‘early career’ to participate, however this opportunity is open to help everyone who feels they may benefit from presenting their work, irrespective of career stage.”

Intel becomes First Corporate Champion for Women in HPC

Today the Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) organization announced that Intel Corporation has become its first Corporate Champion. “Women represent less than 15% of the HPC sector; it is essential that we continue to work at the grassroots level and globally to grow the HPC talent pool and benefit from the diversity of talented women and other under-represented groups. With support from Intel, we can begin focusing on global programs and initiatives that can accelerate our goals and amplify our impact.”

Women in HPC Events on deck for SC18

The Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) organization will be be leading the conversation on diversity and inclusion this week at SC18 in Dallas. “The movement is growing. Women in HPC Event Coming to Austin in November

Today the Texas WHPC announced a Women in HPC Celebration in Austin. The event takes place Friday, Nov. 9 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Intel Corporate Offices in Austin. PRACE Joins Women in HPC Affiliates Program

The European PRACE initiative has just become one of the first WHPC affiliates as part of Women in HPC’s ever-growing pilot expansion program. “We anticipate that the new WHPC affiliates will provide amplification of the WHPC mission to diversify the International HPC community, encourage the gathering of statistics of where women are in the community, what roles they fill and also helping us to identify why women leave and what we can do about it.”

NAG Awarded Chapter status by Women-in-HPC

Today the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG) announced that it has been recognized as one of the first Chapters in the new Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) Pilot Program. “The WHPC Chapter Pilot will enable us to reach an ever increasing community of women, provide these women with the networks that we recognize are essential for them excelling in their career, and retaining them in the workforce.” says Dr. Sharon Broude Geva, WHPC’s Director of Chapters and Director of Advanced Research Computing (ARC) at the University of Michigan (U-M). “At the same time we envisage that the new Chapters will be able to tailor their activities to the needs of their local community as we know that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to diversity.”
