Cloud Native Qumulo Now Runs on Google Cloud

SEATTLE — Dec. 10, 2025 — Qumulo, an unstructured data management company, today announced that Cloud Native Qumulo (CNQ) is running on Google Cloud and can be procured on the Google Cloud Marketplace.

With exabyte-plus scalability and full support for any file or object-based application, users can now implement their cloud strategies by bringing workloads — from massive archives to AI and high-performance computing (HPC) applications — out of legacy infrastructure and into the cloud without refactoring.

Cloud Native Qumulo (CNQ) on Google Cloud is explicitly engineered to leverage native cloud compute, cloud storage, and networking resources, creating a cost-effective, fully scalable, fully elastic file and object data service available on Google Cloud.

“CNQ on Google Cloud enables customers to leverage the scale, elasticity, and high durability of Google Cloud’s best-in-class compute, networking, and cloud storage, creating a truly Cloud Native filesystem on Google Cloud,” said Qumulo Senior Vice President of Product Brandon Whitelaw. “Due to Google Cloud’s high-speed networking and powerful Z3 instances, CNQ can achieve an unprecedented level of performance, with over 1.6TBps (12,500 Gbps) of aggregate throughput and 20M IOPS at 99.7 percent of theoretical instance performance to a single file system. Better yet, it was able to scale up and down from that level on the fly—completely independent from capacity stored.”

Qumulo addresses the distinct needs of various unstructured data workloads, ranging from general purpose file storage to high-performance AI and HPC applications.

In addition, CNQ offers an exceptional return on investment through innovative pricing models and fully customizable performance, all while maintaining essential file system features and availability. It also provides adjustable throughput and IOPS, along with the flexibility to manage cloud environment characteristics across platforms such as Azure, AWS, and now, Google Cloud.

“Bringing Qumulo to Google Cloud Marketplace will help customers quickly deploy, manage, and grow Cloud Native Qumulo on Google Cloud’s trusted, global infrastructure,” said Dai Vu, Managing Director, Marketplace & ISV GTM Programs at Google Cloud. “Qumulo can now securely scale and support customers that want to use its solution to help move their workloads to the cloud faster and without extensive refactoring.”

CNQ is a data platform in the cloud that powers workflows with:

Dynamic scalability: CNQ on Google Cloud can scale automatically to exabytes of capacity in a single namespace simply by adding data, no need to provision. Not only that, CNQ on Google Cloud can be easily reconfigured in minutes, non-disruptively to dynamically scale performance independently to support workload needs. Plus, users pay only for the capacity and performance they actually use.

Rapid Deployment: CNQ runs in a customer’s Google Cloud VPC, and can be deployed via Terraform, enabling the creation of a complete file data platform on Google Cloud in less than 10 minutes. Users can select the specific Google Compute Engine instance type that best meets their workload’s performance requirements.

Intelligent Performance with NeuralCache: Qumulo NeuralCache uses machine learning to optimize reads and writes, improving performance and dramatically reducing cloud I/O costs by up to 99 percent.

Analytics: Real-time analytics to understand how clients are using the system, how it’s changing over time, and where data is being created without having to index or treewalk the system.

Qumulo’s underlying Cloud Data Fabric removes capacity and distance limits, making any data instantly available to any workload—anywhere—while ensuring sovereignty and security. Whether users are video editing or rendering, genomic sequencing, or developing long-term data archives, using CNQ on Google Cloud can help make it effortless.
