Oxford, UK – 9th December, 2025 – Quantum Dice, a UK-based quantum photonics and probabilistic computing company, has secured a €2 grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator programme, with the project now officially underway following its October kick-off.
Selected as one of 40 deep-tech start-ups across Europe – and among just three from the UK – Quantum Dice was chosen from 1,000 applicants to receive the transformative funding.
The grant will enable Quantum Dice to accelerate the development and commercialisation of its probabilistic computing platform, bringing a new computing paradigm to market. The platform, powered by the company’s ORBIT quantum-enabled probabilistic processor, is set to help tackle some of the world’s most critical problems: efficiently enabling the next generation of probabilistic AI models and solving the complex optimisation problems increasingly encountered in modern industry.

Part of the EU’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme, the EIC Accelerator offers support to start-ups and SMEs that have innovative, game-changing products, services or business models that could create new markets or disrupt existing ones in Europe and worldwide.
In addition, EIC-selected companies also receive coaching, mentoring, access to investors and corporates, among other opportunities.
At the core of Quantum Dice’s probabilistic computing platform is its ORBIT quantum-enabled probabilistic processor, which powers the company’s first-generation probabilistic computer, the Lagrange 0 system.
ORBIT uses probabilistic bits, or p-bits. Unlike conventional bits, which correspond with either 0 or 1, p-bits fluctuate between logical states with controllable probability enabling the fast and efficient execution of a host of probabilistic algorithms to solve some of the most complex computational problems.
Underpinned by the company’s patented high-speed self-correcting quantum photonic sources of entropy, its probabilistic computing platform delivers scalable, reliable, and energy-efficient solutions to complex combinatorial optimisation problems across sectors including supply chain and logistics, finance, telecommunications, energy, and will enable the next generation of probabilistic AI models by providing them with the hardware they need to unlock their benefits.
Quantum Dice has already achieved international recognition for its ORBIT-powered probabilistic computing solution, having earlier this year been named one of the winners of the Quantum for Society Challenge, launched by the World Economic Forum’s UpLink initiative.
