From the Sun HPC Watercooler: Hugo Rivero has posted a set of SPECfp2006 results the OpenSolaris team ran compared to other previously published results. The OpenSolaris-based Sun Fire X2250 system executed the benchmarks with a result of 27.8 [compiled with Sun Studio Express 11/08].
This beats other common systems listed, such as an HP ProLiant DL160 running SLES10 and Intel compilers and the Intel/Supermicro X7DWN running SLES10. Both competing systems ran the test with a result of 27.5.
