Appro has announced their latest edition of blade server products. The Appro GreenBlade System, based on quad-core AMD Opterons, is marketed towards mid-sized businesses concerned with the energy efficiency of their datacenters. The new blade series consolidates server, storage, network, power and management functionality into a single package.

The system can support up to 10, dual socket server blades, for a total of 80 cores nad 640GB of memory. Power is delivered by up to four 1625W high-efficiency power supplies, each rated at better than 90% efficiency. In Q2 of this year, Appro also plans to unveil an optional storage blade for the system.
