The new blade series consolidates server, storage, network, power and management functionality into a single package.

Today, many IT departments in the HPC industry are feeling the rising pressure and the need for more computing performance while building a scalable environmentally-friendly infrastructure that lowers total cost of ownership. Appro’s high-performance server solutions based on the AMD Opteron processor address our customers’ demands by combining the latest green technologies with outstanding price/performance and engineering expertise to improve IT performance while reducing energy bills and floor space in the data center,” said John Lee, VP of Advanced Technology Solutions of Appro.

The system can support up to 10, dual socket server blades, for a total of 80 cores nad 640GB of memory.  Power is delivered by up to four 1625W high-efficiency power supplies, each rated at better than 90% efficiency.  In Q2 of this year, Appro also plans to unveil an optional storage blade for the system.
