QLogic has announced that its 12000 series QDR Infiniband switches are now generally available to OEM’s and distributors for customer consumption. The 12000 series features up to 864 ports of quad data rate Infiniband goodness. This directly equates to 51.8 terabits/sec of aggregate bandwidth.
This is a significant milestone in the advancement of InfiniBand technology into the HPC marketplace,” said Jesse Parker, vice president and general manager, Network Solutions Group, QLogic. “The availability of QLogic QDR switch technology and channel programs to a wide range of distributors and resellers will make it easier for a significantly broader range of organizations to buy and implement QDR InfiniBand solutions to power their real-time computing clusters.”
“With 864 ports and bandwidth of 51.8 terabits per second, the QLogic 12000 series is the highest capacity general purpose QDR InfiniBand switch on the market today,” said David Vellante, co-founder and principle contributor at Wikibon.org. “The huge bandwidth of this solution brings HPC customers better scale-out performance, lower latencies, simpler management and reduced costs.”
