Today BIOS IT announced plans for their exhibit at SC16 in Salt Lake City. BIOS IT is will be showcasing the latest HPC solutions and services, including their converged cloud platform in partnership with vScaler Ltd.
vScaler gives our clients the ability to deploy and manage HPC environments with on demand parallel file system creation within their own datacenters and when demand dictates, off-premise as well,” Ian Mellett, General Manager at BIOS IT comments.
Thanks to this partnership, BIOS IT can now provide optimized HPC solutions and services for the cloud. This collaboration adopts a hybrid approach, featuring an appliance for an on premise private cloud that is tightly integrated with a public platform for burst capabilities.
Hardware configuration has been a barrier to the wider adoption of HPC in the cloud; the main ‘public cloud’ providers, such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, have – understandably — invested in commodity hardware that is adapted to commercial and business computing needs, but is unfortunately less well configured for high performance computing. The main differentiation with vScaler is that its platform was designed from the ground up with HPC as its core focus and as a result it incorporates the appropriate hardware for tightly coupled HPC workloads out of the box.
BIOS IT brings years of experience in HPC and has worked with a number of the world’s leading universities and research centers to enhance the speed of scientific discovery. Today’s announcement enables both organizations to bring a complete end-end service for those companies that need to push HPC capabilities to their limits.
