Video: Chinese Tianhe-1 Super to Upgrade to 3 Petaflops in 2012

This video from IDG News provides a rare look at the 1.1 Petaflop (peak) Tianhe-1 supercomputer in China.  Not to be confused with the Tianhe-1A system (currently ranked at #2 on the TOP500), Tianhe-1 is accelerated by 5,120 AMD Firestream GPUs. According to the report, the system will be upgraded to 3 Petaflops of peak performance next year.

A tip of the hat goes to Datacenter Knowledge for pointing us to this story.
