Southern Methodist University in Dallas is seeking an HPC Applications Specialist in our Job of the Week.
The Center for Scientific Computation (CSC) at Southern Methodist University seeks a dynamic and creative Applications Scientist to join our technical team. This is a growth position, with opportunities to collaborate on funded and developing research projects in science, engineering, the humanities, visualization and animation, and the arts. The successful candidate will work with faculty and students at the University to develop and implement massively parallel, hybrid MPI/OpenMP, multicore, and embarrassingly parallel (high-throughput, very large scale) applications on SMU supercomputers. This position will involve a combination of short-term consultation and longer-term programming projects, with the potential for deeper scientific collaboration and co-publication on grant-funded research. The CSC in collaboration with the SMU Office of Information Technology is responsible for the management of high-performance computing facilities encompassing roughly 10,000 CPU cores and a 1.5 PB parallel file system.
