Mellanox Ethernet Solutions Power Germany’s Most Advanced Cloud Datacenter

mellanoxToday Mellanox announced that SysEleven in Germany used the company’s Open Ethernet solutions to build a new SSD-based, fully-automated cloud datacenter.

We chose the Mellanox suite of products because it allows us to fully automate our state-of-the-art Cloud data center,” said Harald Wagener, CTO, SysEleven. “Mellanox solutions are highly scalable and cost effective, allowing us to leverage the Company’s best-in-class Ethernet technology that features the industry’s best bandwidth with the flexibility of the OpenStack open architecture.”

The Mellanox solutions include the Spectrum SN2410 and SN2700 25/50/100G Ethernet switches, ConnectX-4 Lx 25/50G Ethernet adapters and LinkX cables for inclusion into its fully-automated OpenStack, cloud-based data center.

“Mellanox’s 25, 50 and 100G Ethernet solutions are designed to give customers the most cost effective, highest bandwidth best-in-class network in scale out topologies that is available on the market today,” said Gilad Shainer, vice president of marketing at Mellanox. “Our Open Ethernet Spectrum switch systems enable data center to optimize their users and applications performance with the most cost effective and flexible configuration. We are proud to be working with SysEleven as they roll out Germany’s most advanced cloud-based data center to-date.”

The SysEleven solution consists of Mellanox’s ConnectX-4 Lx Ethernet 25/50G Ethernet adapters. The solution has a complete layer three Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) from the server to top-of-rack and is fully automated and offer the best performance for a Quobyte SDS solution. Mellanox Open Ethernet Spectrum SN2410 and SN2700 switches are also part of Mellanox’s complete end-to-end solution which provides 10, 25, 40, 50 and 100G Ethernet interconnectivity within the data center. The switches introduce superior hardware capabilities including dynamic flexible shared buffers and predictable wire speed performance with no packet loss for any packet size. Other devices in this solution include ConnectX-4 based network interface cards, and LinkX cabling. Flexible and fully scalable, the end-to-end hardware architecture is designed specifically to meet the market’s most advanced cloud/web 2.0 performance needs.
