indigoBit LLC, parent company of insideHPC, one of the largest and fastest growing news sites focused on the global HPC ecosystem, today announced that insideHPC has been acquired by 24-year HPC industry veteran, Rich Brueckner.
insideHPC is a highly respected news and analysis site serving the global HPC community. Since its founding in 2006, it has enjoyed strong, steady growth, with monthly page views averaging 800,000 and exceeding 1.5 million during peak months. insideHPC’s revenue has doubled from 2009 to 2010.
With a large and loyal readership among supercomputing center managers, global HPC ecosystem end user scientists, researchers and developers, and multi-national research labs and government organizations in many countries, insideHPC’s editorial content is noted for its integrity, insight and in-depth coverage of the most important HPC industry developments.
According to insideHPC founder John West, “I started insideHPC four years ago as a labor of love to help our community stay better connected through shared experiences, knowledge, and insight about the trends, technologies, and people shaping the global HPC ecosystem. The tremendous growth we’ve enjoyed has validated that vision. As I hand insideHPC off to Rich, I know the publication will be led by the same commitment to the HPC community that drove me to start the site in the first place. Rich’s experience, enthusiasm, community contacts, integrity and insight will fuel an exciting period of growth and renewal for insideHPC.”
“I’ve had the chance to work closely with John while taking a detailed look at the insideHPC operation over the past few months,” said Brueckner. “I was impressed with the excellent reputation, the tremendous amount of reader activity, and most importantly, the publication’s healthy balance sheet.” Brueckner continued, “insideHPC has strong loyalty among both readers and advertisers and continues to grow at a steady pace. In talking to investors, this was an opportunity that made excellent business sense from all angles.”
Regarding future plans for the publication, Brueckner had this to say, “The two things I want to focus on at insideHPC are continuity and social engagement,” said Brueckner. “John and his contributors have consistently posted quality stories every business day for years, and that type of fresh, filtered content keeps the audience coming back. So priority one for me is to maintain that quality service for our readers. Secondly, I’m looking at new Social Media technologies that will make it easier for our readers to connect, share perspectives, and collaborate.”
The publication was acquired in its entirety for an undisclosed amount. Brueckner will assume publishing responsibility at insideHPC effective immediately.
Congratulations Rich! The future of insideHPC looks bright!
