- SGI Profitable, announces best quarter ever. Can you remember the last time you read that?
- A Year Without Sun. This week marked the first anniversary of the demise of Sun Microsystems. Where have they gone?
- World’s Biggest PC. Windows Server 2008 R2 is now certified on the SGI Altix UV. Imagine a PC with 2048 cores. Now you can have one.
- Worlds Biggest Storage Silo. Oracle announces 5 Terabyte STK tape drive, which enables a 5-Exabyte tape library. That’s 5×1018 bytes, folks!
- Intel finds flaw in “Cougar Point” chipset. Not to worry unless you bought a Sandy Bridge PC since January 9, 2011.
