Today Mellanox announced that Toshiba’s SC3000 storage controllers utilize Mellanox’s ConnectX-3 40 Gigabit Ethernet NICs to provide leading application performance, efficiency and fast access to storage.
Our customers are being asked to deal with a new reality – the need to process more data, more quickly,” said Koichi Kagawa, General Manager, Cloud Platform and Service Division, at Toshiba. “Mellanox’s ConnectX-3 40 Gigabit Ethernet NICs enable our SC3000 to provide the high-performance, low-latency and reliable connectivity that organizations demand for cloud deployments.”
The SC3000 is part of the Toshiba Total Storage Platform, which is optimized for big data and cloud workloads. The SC3000 offers a highly reliable storage solution with the optimal balance of performance and capacity. The Mellanox 40 Gigabit Ethernet NIC integrated into SC3000 provides a low-latency, high-bandwidth solution while remaining cost-effective. In addition to the utilization of Mellanox’s ConnectX-3 40GbE NIC in the SC3000, Toshiba’s TC3000 also leverages Mellanox’s InfiniBand technology to enable seamless, fast communication and high availability between controllers.
Data growth and the need for information in near-real time are changing the game in enterprise storage, making it increasingly important that bottlenecks are minimized and that performance is scalable,” said Kevin Deierling, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “Our ConnectX-3 40 Gigabit Ethernet NIC delivers the latency and bandwidth needed for storage solutions like Toshiba’s, allowing them to perform at the highest level in enterprise and cloud environments.”
