ANSYS is seeking an HPC Software Developer in our Job of the Week.

The Software Developer II is responsible for assisting in the design, development and maintenance of the next generation, multi-physics coupling engine. This developer can expect to be engaged in all stages of code and capability planning, creation and evolution, and to work closely with other groups as they adopt the coupling infrastructure. Emphasis is on planning and executing work at the iteration (approximately monthly) time scale.

Responsibilities include:

  • Gather requirement from stakeholders and product designers, and plan solutions to address those requirements
  • Collaboratively design and develop coupling engine responsible for managing multi-physics simulations involving fluids, structural and electromagnetics physics
  • Design and develop algorithms, and data structures that are conducive to high performance computing (HPC) for large scale multiphysics applications
  • HPC using Cloud computing, and Windows and Linux based cluster environments and schedulers
  • Design, develop and support adoption of APIs that deliver robust interactions between high fidelity physics and/or system-level simulation codes, within the ANSYS portfolio and/or available from third party vendors
  • Develop, debug and proactively refactor mixed language code base including python and C++ on Windows and Linux platforms
  • Triage, and collaboratively diagnose and resolve issues and defects within and outside of team’s code base
  • Contribute to the software development lifecycle by planning and completing tasks within the team’s test-driven iterative/incremental, and broader agile practices
