Bull Atos has installed the fastest supercomputer in Croatia at the University in Rijeka. With an expected debut on the TOP500 in November, the 239 Teraflop BURA supercomputer will be used by university researchers in areas including drug discovery and genomics.
Bura comprises 288 direct water cooled blades from ATOS using Intel Xeon 576 E5-2690v3 processors with total of 6912 cores all connected with FDR Infiniband connectivity to a Lustre parallel file system.
System data will be stored on 1PB of disk storage with HSM solution brought by Graudata, who will automatically move unused data to 1PB of tape storage.
