Los Alamos National Lab is seeking a Research Technologist in our Job of the Week.
This position will focus on research and development of novel DNA and RNA isolation and library preparation methods to accommodate library preparation requirements for a variety of NGS platforms. This includes shotgun, amplicon or other enrichment methods targeting single cell, small volume or small nucleic acid concentration samples as well as traditional samples for sequencing on Illumina, Pacbio, and MinION.
The candidate will also support the broad array of projects in our portfolio, including developing and testing sample preparation protocols, optimizing sequencing methods, working with internal and external collaborators on research and development projects, developing training materials, and delivering training to collaborators. In addition, you will perform some standard sequencing for internal and external projects.
The candidate will be expected to communicate project results through internal presentations and reports, progress reports to sponsors, or technical publications in peer-reviewed journals. You may have significant responsibility for the safety/security envelope for laboratory operations.
