Video: Building an HPC Cluster on the AWS Cloud

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zBxl6HUFA4

How easy is it to set up and use an AWS cloud cluster for HPC? This video introduces Amazon EC2 and demonstrates how to create and launch high performance cluster instances. The walk-through then shows how to build an 8-node, 64 core, ad-hoc cluster and run a molecular dynamics simulation.

This video is 18 minutes long and goes through the process step by step. Do you think it would even be possible to get the servers out of their boxes and put them in the rack in that amount of time?

  1. At most large companies you couldn’t even get the servers checked in through receiving in that amount of time.
