Big Data Gets its Own Conference

I started following Quora recently, and I noticed that Big Data has been getting a lot of ink lately in the enterprise space. It’s also something that seems to be accelerating as an area of focus for HPC as well. In fact, this year SC11 will a have singular thrust focused on Data Intensive Science.

Now this phenomena is getting its own conference with GigaOm’s first annual Structure Big Data show, March 23 in New York.

It’s been said that 90 percent of the data that exists today was created in the last two years. That staggering “hockey-stick” growth presents challenges that must be met if we are to gain valuable insight from that data. If there ever was a time to have a big data strategy in place, it’s now!

The conference will reportedly be streamed live, so mark your calendar. Full Story
