AMD to Staff Up on Cloud with 1000 Technology Hires

Mel Duvall from CIO Zone writes that AMD is going on a hiring spree over the next year to bring on about 1,000 technology professionals worldwide as part of a push to develop new hardware and software products aimed at cloud computing.

Cloud computing is the next stage in the evolution of the Internet that dynamically delivers information to end users where they want it, when they want it,” said Tracey Blanton, a product marketing manager at AMD “And, in doing that there needs to be a sophisticated balance of computing hardware and software to power that kind of abundant and flexible data.”

While AMD did not provide many details, the company is looking to hire design engineers, software professionals and IT specialists, with the highest number of available positions in the area of design and verification engineers.
