At ISC 2022 in Hamburg, we sat down with DDN Senior Vice President Products James Coomer to discuss the company’s evolving mission as more customers move toward HPC/AI use cases. To its line of HPC, AI and analytics storage products, DDN is steadily adding data management capabilities designed to simplify increasingly complex workloads.
The company recently launched EXAScaler 6.1, a new release of its parallel filesystem designed to deliver optimized AI integration and data security. DDN also offers hybrid storage, enabling customers to store data using hard disc drives and run HPC/AI applications using high performance flash at scale, “matching budgets with performance requirements,” Coomer said.
He also told us that DDN has forged a strong relationship with NVIDIA – 95 percent of NVIDIA DGX SuperPODS are shipped with DDN storage, he said, and DDN is developing new storage and data management features tested in Seline, the NVIDIA AI supercomputer ranked no. 8 on the TOP500 list of the world’s most powerful HPC systems.
