Aug. 29, 2022 — The Argonne Leadership Computing Facility will host a free, eight-week virtual training series to teach undergraduates and graduates the fundamentals of using world-class supercomputers to advance the use of AI for research. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from September 20 – November 8, 2022, from 3-5 pm Central Time.
The deadline for registration is September 16, 2022. The series is free to attend, but registration is required. Attendees will receive the link to the online webinar once they have registered.
Thd ALCF training series is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at U.S. universities. Attendees are expected to have basic experience with Python. No supercomputing or AI knowledge is required.
The training series will provide hands-on experience on the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility’s (ALCF) supercomputing resources, providing a unique learning experience that will give participants a leg up in the emerging field of AI for Science.
Week 1: Introduction to AI training on ThetaGPU supercomputer and machine learning
Week 2: Neural networks in Python
Week 3: Neural networks in TensorFlow;
Week 4: Modern classification networks
Week 5: Handling data during AI training
Week 6: Supercomputers and parallel AI training
Week 7: Running Large Scale Training on a supercomputer
Week 8: Other AI learning methods
Participants who complete all hands-on materials for the course will receive a certificate of completion and a digital badge.
