In this this video from ISC 2016, Tim Carroll and Rob Futrick describe how Cycle Computing is working with Dell Technologies to deliver more science for more users. Cycle Computing’s CycleCloud software suite is the leading cloud orchestration, provisioning, and data management platform for Big Compute, Big Data, and large technical computing applications running on any public, private, or internal environment.
“Our customers are saying, “We’re not even debating anymore about whether or not we should do Cloud.” It’s now, “How do I get started?” So with Dell and Cycle working together, its never been easier for someone to figure out: Hey, let me find a workload. Let me find a way to run it. And that’s what we’re doing. We end up serving more science to more users by using both, rather than just using one or the other.”
After that, Cycle Computing CTO Rob Futrick demonstrates just how easy it is to start using HPC in the Cloud using CycleCloud.
insideHPC: Where is this headed with Cycle and Dell? What is the objective?
Tim Carroll: You, knohw, I was talking with Jim Ganthier at Dell about this a few months ago. He said, “It’s very simple. We want to be first to market with the best solutions for our customers. Because they are demanding customers in a demanding market.”
What you’re going to see is Cycle and Dell developing this solution in a way that not only makes it easier for people to access, but to experience the full power of it, with all of the pieces needed to move it. And it’s not just for HPC workloads, but all the Big Data workloads and Machine Learning–all of the pieces of the puzzle that are coming together for a market where the lines are blurring already.”
If Cycle and Dell focus on being first to market with the best solution, that’s going to put their customers in the best position to take advantage of it.”
