Cray to Upgrade Supercomputers with E5-2600 V3 Haswell Processors

CrayToday Cray announced that its next generation Cray XC supercomputers and Cray CS cluster supercomputers will feature the new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 product family, formerly code named “Haswell.” With a higher core count per processor, improved memory latency and bandwidth, and faster performance, the new Intel Xeon processors will be available in the complete line of Cray XC and Cray CS products, including both air and liquid-cooled models.
