GRC Launches Immersion Cooled Micro-Modular Data Center Solution

Today GRC announced the launch of a new micro-modular data center solution, the ICEraQ Micro, a rapidly deployable self-contained 24U server rack that can support up to 50kW of critical IT load and is nearly half the cost of other micro-modular solutions. “ICEraQ Micro gives IT professionals the freedom to easily add high-density computing, virtually anywhere.”

GRC Builds GPU-Based Immersion Cluster for TACC

Green Revolution Cooling has announced plans to deliver a custom GPU-based cluster to the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC). Our goal is to make HPC more affordable. JPCU Deploys Immersion-cooled Supercomputer

Today Green Revolution Cooling announced the latest installation of its liquid immersion computing system at John Paul Catholic University (JPCU) in San Diego. The high density cluster made up of industry standard servers optimized for immersion, and built in partnership with Supermicro, exploit the enhanced performance and compelling economic value inherent with GRC liquid immersion technology. “Virtually limitless cooling, industry leading efficiency, and lower upfront cost, made it an absolute no brainer for us,” said Kevin Meziere, VP of Technology at JPCU “the ability to cool over 100kW [per rack] effectively and efficiently, gives us the ability to be more responsive to future technology trends and adopt more powerful hardware without concerns of cooling capacity and costs. Data Center Floor Space Utilization

Floor space usage in the data center is an important, though often misunderstood aspect of liquid submersion cooling. While it is true that horizontal liquid submersion cooling racks require more floor space per unit than vertical air cooling racks, space utilization becomes comparable between the two when considering that liquid submersion cooling racks can support higher power densities per rack and require very little accompanying infrastructure on the data center floor.
