Today Nimbus Data announced an all-new solid state storage operating system (Nimbus Data AFX), all-new enterprise support program (Tectonic), and new all-flash array (ExaFlash One). “With its versatility, federated architecture, and multi-tenant management capabilities, Nimbus Data AFX is a well-conceived solid state storage platform for dense enterprise workload consolidation,” said Eric Burgener, research vice president in the Infrastructure Systems, Platforms and Technologies Group at IDC.
Nimbus Data launches 100 Terabyte SSD
Today Nimbus Data announced the ExaDrive DC100, the largest capacity (100 terabytes) solid state drive (SSD) ever produced. Featuring more than 3x the capacity of the closest competitor, the ExaDrive DC100 also draws 85% less power. “The ExaDrive DC100 meets these challenges for both data center and edge applications, offering unmatched capacity in an ultra-low power design.”
Wow! Nimbus Data Unveils 50 Terabyte ExaDrive SSDs
“With an interface and form factor identical to HDDs, but with vastly more capacity, ExaDrive will accelerate flash adoption in the data center. Viking Technology and SMART Modular Technologies recently began shipping 50 TB and 25 TB ExaDrive-powered SSDs for cloud infrastructure, technical computing, and digital content storage.”
Nimbus Data Patents Parallel Memory Architecture
Today Nimbus Data announced the award of a patent for its non-blocking all-flash architecture. Nimbus Data’s Parallel Memory Architecture scales capacity and performance linearly within each ExaFlash system, offering latency and throughput performance up to 6x faster scale-up designs. “Conventional HDD-centric architectures employed by the majority of all-flash array vendors trap flash performance behind legacy shared bus and scale-up designs,” stated Thomas Isakovich, CEO and Founder. “Now patented, Nimbus Data’s Parallel Memory Architecture overcomes the limitations of generic off-the-shelf servers, capturing the full performance potential of all-flash technology.”
