Immersive Cooling from Submer Technologies coming to EU Joint Research Center in Italy

In a collaborative effort with Airbus, Submer Technologies and 2CRSi are providing supercomputer-speed processing in high-density clusters to support real-time workloads for advanced Artificial Intelligence (AR) cybersecurity research applications at the JRC campus. “This is one of our most important installations yet. It’s a mission-critical, high-density compute environment where physical space and energy compliance are important considerations,” said Daniel Pope, CEO of Submer. “We designed the SmartPod to address all of these issues – making this project a perfect use-case for our liquid immersion cooling platform.”

PRACE SHAPE Programme to Support Five new SMEs with HPC

PRACE has announced that following the 9th Call for applications to SHAPE, five more SMEs will be able to start working with PRACE to gain access to HPC expertise and resources, expand their HPC experience and ultimately enhance their business. “So far, SHAPE has helped 45 companies to use HPC, allowing them to benefit from using HPC in their business.”

HPC Goes Green at Goonhilly Earth Station with Submer Immersive Cooling

“As an innovator in hyper-efficient immersion cooling technology, Submer Technologies is partnering with Goonhilly and 2CRSI to provide HPC solutions with higher performance at less than half the energy consumption of traditional datacenters. A SmartPod immersion cooling system installed on-site will be running CPU and GPU-intensive simulations using HPC servers provided by 2CRSI using the latest Nvidia and AMD chipsets to showcase the future of datacenters during a series of special events over the next several months.”

Submer SmartPodX Platform launches for OCP Immersion Cooling

Today the European Submer startup announced that their latest SmartPod Immersion Cooling System conforms to both standard server formats and to Open Compute Project (OCP) specifications for high-performance, supercomputing, and hyperscale infrastructures – the SmartPodX. “The Open Compute Project exists to develop open standards that bring greater efficiency, scalability, openness, and positive impact to datacenters and hardware – making all of our lives better,” said Submer CEO Daniel Pope. “This makes the OCP Global Summit the perfect opportunity to launch our hyper-efficient SmartPodX that will power the next generation of high-performance servers and supercomputers that usher in the next wave of research and technical innovation.”

Video: Submer Technology for HPC Immersion Cooling

In this video, Diarmoid Daltun from Submer and Daniele Rispoli from ClusterVision describe how Immersion Cooling applies to a HPC installation, including the benefits, challenges, economics, practicality, and more. “We are a cleantech company that designs, builds and installs Liquid Immersion cooling solutions for HPC, hyperscaler, datacenters, Edge, AI, deep learning and blockchain applications. Set apart by its modular design, our technology is the most practical, resilient, eco-friendly and highly efficient Immersion Cooling solution.”
