MEGWARE Steps Up as BeeGFS Platinum Partner

“MEGWARE is building high quality BeeGFS turn-key solutions already since the first days of its release back in 2009. Over the years, we have seen an outstanding level of customer satisfaction and systems that regularly exceeded customer expectations in throughput, manageability and technical support. Thus, we are proud to have MEGWARE as the world’s first BeeGFS Platinum partner.“ says Sven Breuner, CEO of ThinkParQ, the company behind BeeGFS.

BeeGFS Updates with built-in Metadata High-Availability

Today ThinkParQ announced the immediate availability of BeeGFS version 6.0. As the first release in a new versioning scheme, release 6.0 is the direct successor of the 2015.03 release series, which was in fact the 5th BeeGFS major release. “This new release is another big step for the development of BeeGFS”, says Christian Mohrbacher, development lead of BeeGFS. “In combination with the high availability features of the BeeGFS storage service, which were introduced in the 2015.03 major release last year, fully fault-tolerant storage systems can now be built by solely using BeeGFS-internal functionality.”

First Look: BeeGFS File System at CSCS

In this video from the HPC Advisory Council Spain Conference, Hussein Harake provides an overview of the CSCS and then introduces the audience to the BeeGFS parallel file system. “BeeGFS (formerly FhGFS) is an up and coming parallel cluster file system for I/O intensive workloads. Developed with a strong focus on performance, BeeGFS was designed for very easy installation and management.”

Video: Transtec Delivers BeeGFS for HPC

In this video from the Transtec booth at ISC 2016, Sven Breuner from ThinkParQ describes how the BeeGFS parallel file system delivers performance, reliability, and flexibility to their HPC solutions. Transtec builds HPC solutions from a host of technologies including BeeGFS. “BeeGFS (formerly FhGFS) is the leading parallel cluster file system, developed with a strong focus on performance and designed for veryeasy installation and management. If I/O intensive workloads are your problem, BeeGFS is the solution.”

BeeGFS Certified on Intel Omni-Path at 12GB/s per server

Today ThinkParQ from Germany announced certification of BeeGFS over Intel Omni-Path Architecture (OPA). “Without a doubt, Intel has made a big leap in performance with the new 100Gbps OPA technology compared to previous interconnect generations,” said Sven Breuner, CEO of ThinkParQ. “The fact that we didn’t need to modify even a single line of the BeeGFS source code to deliver this new level of throughput, confirms that the BeeGFS internal design is really future-proof.”

BeeGFS Parallel File System Goes Open Source

Today ThinkParQ announced that the complete BeeGFS parallel file system is now available as open source. Developed specifically for performance-critical environments, the BeeGFS parallel file system was developed with a strong focus on easy installation and high flexibility, including converged setups where storage servers are also used for compute jobs. By increasing the number of servers and disks in the system, performance and capacity of the file system can simply be scaled out to the desired level, seamlessly from small clusters up to enterprise-class systems with thousands of nodes.

New BeeGFS Release Targets High-Availability Storage

Today Fraunhofer ITWM and ThinkParQ announced a new major release of the BeeGFS parallel file system. Now available as a free download, BeeGFS version 2015.03-r1 comes with enterprise features including built-in storage server high-availability based on replication with self-healing, support for access control lists (ACLs), and adds a number of performance and usability improvements.

ThinkParQ Launches BeeGFS on Demand Parallel Storage

This week ThinkParQ launched BeeGFS on Demand parallel storage offering. Dubbed BeeOND, the new offering allows users with HPC clusters to generate job-dedicated parallel filesystem instances on demand.
