So he has a full appreciation for how far HPC has come. At the same time, he’s concerned about the power of HPC for dark purposes, such as deepfakes: “’Seeing is believing,’ is what people used to say,” he told the late Rich Brueckner. “I can hack a video and make it look like anything in an afternoon. That’s potentially societal altering. We have to be very careful with that.”

Today Hyperion Research announced high-profile speakers from major banking and investment firms will highlight the agenda at the next HPC User Forum. Hyperion Research has posted their preliminary agenda for the upcoming HPC User Forum. The event takes place March 30 – April 1 in Princeton, New Jersey. “The HPC User Forum was established in 1999 to promote the health of the global HPC industry and address issues of common concern to users (www.hpcuserforum.com). The organization has grown to 150 members.”
