ISC 2018 Issues Call For Tutorials and Workshops

ISC 2018 has issued their Call for Tutorials and Workshops. The conference takes place June 24-28 in Frankfurt, Germany. “If you possess knowledge and skills in a particular field in high performance computing, and enjoy sharing them, the ISC 2018 Tutorials Committee looks forward to hearing from you. Along the same lines, the ISC 2018 Workshops Committee also calls on the HPC community members to send in their proposals for workshops.”

Call for Submissions: PASC18 in Basel

The PASC18 Organizing Team has posted their Call for Submissions. Proposals are now being accepted for minisymposium, papers, and posters. Video: Why your school should enter the ISC Student Cluster Competition

In this video, future HPC professionals discuss their participation in the ISC Student Cluster Competition. “Now in its seventh year, the Student Cluster Competition enables international teams to take part in a real-time contest focused on advancing STEM disciplines and HPC skills development. To take home top honors, the teams will have to showcase systems of their own design, adhering to strict power constraints and achieve the highest performance across a series of standard HPC benchmarks and applications.”

Call For Research Papers: ISC 2018

ISC 2018 has issued their Call for Research Papers. “Submissions are now open for the ISC 2018 conference research paper sessions, which aim to provide first-class opportunities for engineers and scientists in academia, industry, and government to present and discuss issues, trends, and results that will shape the future of high performance computing. Submissions will be accepted through Dec. 22, 2017. The research paper sessions will be held from Monday, June 25, through Wednesday, June 27, 2018.”

Seeking Teams for the 2018 Student Cluster Competition at ISC in Frankfurt

The HPC Advisory Council has officially kicked off the ISC-HPCAC Student Cluster Competition (SCC) with an open call for team entries in the 2018 competition. “The Student Cluster Competition provides a real-world hands-on education that directly benefits students and their individual studies,” noted Gilad Shainer, chairman of the HPC Advisory Council. “Team members gain access to a wealth of industry expertise, training and tools and hands-on exposure to a range of technologies and techniques they’ll use for competition and throughout their careers. By helping advance their knowledge and capabilities, the entire HPC community benefits.”

Applications are now being accepted for the ISC 2018 Student Cluster Competition. Entering its 33rd year, ISC High Performance offers students a unique opportunity to learn how HPC influences our world and day-to-day learning. “The ISC-HPCAC Student Cluster Competition encourages international teams of university students to showcase their expertise in a friendly yet spirited competition that builds critical skills, professional relationships, competitive spirits, and lifelong friendship.”

ISC 2017 Wrapup by the Numbers

Today the ISC Group announced that their 2017 ISC High Performance conference drew a record 3,253 attendees from 60 countries. The attendance represented a 5.2 percent increase compared to last year’s event.

Kim McMahon on her role as Diversity Chair at ISC 2018
