Quantum Corporation Optimizes Data Intensive Workloads at ISC 2018

In this video from ISC 2018, Laura Shepard and Jason Coari from Quantum Corporation describe how the company’s high speed storage solutions power AI & HPC applications. “At ISC, Quantum highlighted end-to-end storage capabilities for large-scale HPC environments. Quantum offerings featured at their exhibit included high-performance Xcellis scale-out storage appliances to support data-intensive processing workflows, and StorNext HSM for automated migration of extremely large data sets to cost-effective storage tiers such as tape, object storage and the cloud.”

Quantum Corp Joins iRODS Consortium

Today Quantum Corp. announced the company has joined the iRODS Consortium, the foundation that leads development and support of the integrated Rule-Oriented Data System (iRODS). “Quantum is a leader in scale-out storage and they will offer great insight into their customers’ data management needs,” said Mark Pastor, archive solution marketing director, Quantum. “This is essential for software that is driven by the requirements of the user community. The addition of Xcellis Scale-out NAS to the body of product offerings that have been tested with iRODS shows great promise for the iRODS user community.”

Quantum Storage Solutions Power Self-driving Cars for AutonomouStuff

Today Quantum Corporation named AutonomouStuff LLC as its primary partner for storage distribution in the automotive market, enabling them to deliver Quantum’s comprehensive end-to-end storage solutions for both in-vehicle and data center environments. “Autonomous research generates an enormous volume of data which is vital to achieving the goal of a safe autonomous vehicle,” said Bobby Hambrick, founder and CEO of AutonomouStuff. “Quantum multitier data storage kits powered by StorNext offer a highly scalable and economical solution to the data dilemma researchers face.”

Quantum Drives High Performance Storage at SC17

In this video from SC17, Molly Presley from Quantum describes how the company’s high performance storage systems power HPC. “So why have an autonomous car at a Supercomputing show? The answer is Big Data. The Autonomous Stuff vehicle in this video is actually a rolling software development platform equipped with sensors that generate a whopping 30 Terabytes of data per day. Now just imagine if there were millions of vehicles on the road generating this kind of data. Only HPC could deal with that problem at scale. Companies like Quantum are stepping up to help solve this big data problem, both in the vehicle, on the edge, and in the datacenter.”

Video: Quantum Steps up with High Speed Parallel Storage at ISC 2017

In this video from ISC 2017, Molly Presley from Quantum describes the company’s advanced storage solutions for high performance computing. “At the core of all Quantum scale-out storage is StorNext advanced data management—engineered to tackle the world’s most demanding data-intensive workloads, with the performance and efficiency needed to cost-effectively achieve desired business results.”

Quantum Powers Petascale Storage at Two Major European Research Institutions

Today Quantum Corp. announced that two of Europe’s premier research institutions are using the company’s StorNext workflow storage as the foundation for managing their growing data and enabling a range of scientific initiatives. “With the StorNext platform, we have removed barriers to research,” Thomas Disper, CISO and Head of IT, Max Planck Institute for Chemistry. “It allows us to provide a lot more capacity quickly and easily. We don’t need to give research teams data limits, and storage for new projects can be ready in an afternoon.”
