Through this program, customers will realize the benefits of their purchased Spectra solutions much sooner than would otherwise be possible where onsite assistance is not permitted. “Our new Remote Installation Program is really an extension of the outstanding onsite service and support we already provide to our customers, except that we will walk our customers through the entire installation, configuration and setup processes using remote activation, monitoring, testing and videoconferencing.”

Spectra Logic Protects Genome Data for Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation
Today Spectra Logic announced that the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation has chosen the Spectra NAS solution for management of its extensive library of research data. “The IT group set out to procure a solution that could backup 100TB of high performance computing (HPC) data and 450TB of Commvault secondary backup data supporting OMRF’s sequencing and genome research. OMRF chose the Spectra NAS solution to provide faster access without an increased burden on the staff for administrative support to their data storage systems.”
Spectra Logic Unveils StorCycle Storage Management Software
Today Spectra Logic introduced StorCycle, a new storage management software solution designed for data-driven organizations that need a modern storage lifecycle management workflow. StorCycle allows organizations to create a new Perpetual Tier of storage, reducing the overall cost of storing data by up to 70 percent, while giving users full access to their data. StorCycle can be implemented as standalone software using public cloud storage or existing network-attached storage, or combined with Spectra storage hardware to create a complete storage solution.

Spectra Swarm Brings Ethernet Connectivity to LTO Tape Libraries
Today Spectra Logic announced enhancements to its family of tape libraries that help end users simplify and enhance their workflows. With the introduction of Spectra Swarm ethernet connectivity, the company makes tape connectivity easier and adds a modern interface to LTO tape libraries by leveraging all of the same infrastructure and networking capabilities as the rest of the equipment in a modern data center. Spectra Swarm is tested and qualified to work with Spectra LTO tape libraries — Spectra Stack through Spectra T950.

In this video, engineers install a Spectra Logic tape library at STFC’s Scientific Data Centre at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the UK. The new Spectra TFinity Tape Library has an initial capacity of 65PB. “This system will provide for the predicted data-growth from existing groups over the next decade, and an active archive for JASMIN users and the IRIS science communities. It brings SCD’s total tape storage capacity within the RAL Scientific Data Centre to 240PB.”
Spectra Logic Unveils World’s Largest Data Storage Machine with 2 Exabytes Capacity
Today Spectra Logic announced the industry’s most advanced tape technology, the IBM TS1160, for use in Spectra’s enterprise-class tape libraries. Spectra’s TFinity ExaScale, T950, T950v and T380 Tape Libraries will support the new tape drive and media. When fully populated with the TS1160 tape drives and media, a TFinity ExaScale will store and allow access to more than 2 exabytes (2,000 petabytes) of data, making Spectra’s TFinity ExaScale Tape Library the largest single data storage machine in the world.
