The company grew revenue by 600% compared to 2018 with growth fueled by increasing adoption of NVMe-native storage systems to enable I/O-intensive applications in Artificial Intelligence (AI), life sciences, and financial analysis. “We are the only tier-1, enterprise-grade storage solution capable of delivering epic performance at any scale on premises and on the public cloud, and we will continue to fuel our momentum by hiring for key positions and identifying strategic partnerships.”
WekaIO Rocks the IO500 at SC19
In this video from SC19, Charla Bunton-Johnson & Mat Gruen from WekaIO describe the company’s high performance shared file system and how they closely with industry-leading technology resellers, distributors, service providers, and integrators to maximize performance and business opportunity. “At the show, Weka announced that it has been awarded the first-place ranking on the IO-500 Challenge, rankings that compare storage systems that work in tandem with the world’s largest supercomputers. The Weka File System (WekaFS) running on AWS set a record on the IO-500 benchmark.
Intel Wins IO500 10-node Challenge with DAOS
In this video from SC19, Kelsey Prantis from Intel describes how the DAOS parallel file system won the IO500 10-node Challenge with Intel Optane DC persistent memory. As an all-new parallel file system, DAOS will be a key component of the the upcoming Aurora supercomputer coming to Argonne National Laboratory in 2021.
French Space Agency CNES Data Center reaches world ranking on IO500
A newly upgraded data center at the French Space Agency CNES took 15th place in the world ranking in the IO500 list unveiled this month. IO500 is an international benchmark standard managed by the Virtual Institute for I/O that measures bandwidth and input/output operations per second (IOPS) using typical workloads observed on real systems. “Besides the ranking, we are glad to be able to offer a better service to our partners and users. In particular, we are boosting our ability to develop artificial intelligence techniques and build them into space systems and mine the data they acquire.”
BSC takes one of top spots in the IO500 10-Node Challenge
The Storage Systems for Extreme Computing team from BSC has taken the number 4 spot in the IO500’s ‘10- Node Challenge’ with GekkoFS. “The IO500’s “10-Node Challenge” list is a global ranking that uses multiple concurrent processes running in 10 compute nodes to benchmark the I/O performance of a HPC storage system in terms or bandwidth and throughput. GekkoFS’ score of 125 ranks it fourth in IO500’s 10-Node Challenge List and ninth in IO500’s Full List, with an average 21.41 GiB/s of bandwidth and an average of 728,680 operations per second.”
DDN Leads HPC Storage Market and IO500 List
Today DDN announced it has captured the number-one spot in the IO500 10-node benchmark, announced today by the Virtual Institute for IO at ISC in Frankfurt, Germany. In addition to the top spot, DDN ranked in three of the top five system results. DDN was also a part of a notable submission working with Google to introduce the first IO500 submission run in public cloud with EXAScaler. Additionally, DDN was recognized this week as the leading storage supplier to HPC in Intersect360’s HPC User Site Census.
