Hyperion Research Posts Interactive Map of 765 U.S. HPC Sites

Today Hyperion Research launched an information-rich, interactive map of 765 HPC sites in the United States. “The mapped sites include government, academic and industrial HPC data centers, along with HPC vendors. This powerful tool can be used to identify the economic impact of HPC in a user-defined area (state, Congressional district, et al.) or for the United States as a whole, or to understand where HPC jobs are located, as well as who the Congressional district representatives are.”

Agenda Posted for April HPC User Forum in Tucson

The HPC User Forum has posted their speaker agenda for their upcoming meeting in Tucson. Hosted by Hyperion Research, the event takes place April 16-18 at Loews Ventana Canyon. “The April meeting will explore the status and prospects for quantum computing and HPC use of HPC for environmental research, especially natural disasters such as earthquakes and the recent California wildfires. As always, the meeting will also look at new developments in HPDA-AI, cloud computing and other areas of continuing interest to the HPC community. A special session will look at the growing field of processors and accelerators supporting HPC systems.”

Berkeley Lab-led Collaborations win HPC Innovation Awards

Two Berkeley Lab-led projects—Celeste and Galactos—were honored with Hyperion Research’s 2017 HPC Innovation Excellence Awards for “the outstanding application of HPC for business and scientific achievements.” The HPC Innovation Excellence awards are designed to showcase return on investment and success stories involving HPC; to help other users better understand the benefits of adopting HPC; and to help justify HPC investments, including for small and medium-size enterprises.

Preliminary Agenda Posted for March HPC User Forum in France

The HPC User Forum has posted their Preliminary Agenda for their upcoming meeting in France. Free to attend, the event takes place March 6-7 near Paris at the Teratec campus in Bruyères-le-Châtel. “We have developed an exciting agenda with prominent speakers who will discuss the HPC strategies for Europe, Japan and the USA,” said Earl Joseph, CEO of Hyperion Research. “We will also have talks on new HPC technologies, applications and markets; and the proliferation of HPC in industrial and commercial environments.”

Hyperion Research Becomes Independent Company

Today Hyperion Research announced that it has completed an employee buyout and is now an independent company. “The team will continue all the worldwide activities that have made it the world’s most respected HPC industry analyst group for more than 25 years,” said Steve Conway, senior vice president of research. “That includes sizing and tracking the global markets for HPC and high-performance data analysis (HPDA). We will also continue offering our subscription services, customer studies and papers, and operating the HPC User Forum.”

Hyperion Research Announces HPC Innovation Excellence Award Winners

Hyperion Research recently announced the newest recipients of the HPC Innovation Excellence Awards. “High performance computing contributes enormously to scientific progress, economic competitiveness, national security and the quality of human life,” said Bob Sorensen, Hyperion Research vice president of research and technology. “The winners of these awards have been judged to be among the world’s best at exploiting HPC to achieve important real-world innovations.”

Hyperion Research Breakfast Briefing Returns to Denver at SC17

Hyperion Research will host their annual Breakfast Briefing at SC17 in Denver. The event takes place at the Denver Marriott City Center at 7:30am – 9:30am on Tuesday, Nov. 14. “We will be presenting an update on HPC market results, key technology issues & trends, results of new research studies in AI & Big data, new ROI results, and the mapping of HPC centers across the US.”
