HPE to Build 24 Petaflop Supercomputer with 64-Core AMD EPYC Processors for HLRS

HPE is now under contract to build and install a new AMD-powered supercomputer at HLRS in Germany. Called “Hawk, the new computing system will be 3.5 times faster than the existing HLRS supercomputer, Hazel Hen, and will be the world’s fastest supercomputer for industrial production. Hawk will support academic research and industry — particularly in engineering-related fields — to advance applications for energy, climate, mobility, and health. “And if you are wondering about the name, well, Hawks eat Hazel Hens.”

World’s First 7nm GPU and Fastest Double Precision PCIe Card

AMD recently announced two new Radeon Instinct compute products including the AMD Radeon Instinct MI60 and Radeon Instinct MI50 accelerators, which are the first GPUs in the world based on the advanced 7nm FinFET process technology. The company has made numerous improvements on these new products, including optimized deep learning operations. AMD Speeds HPC and Ai with EPYC Processors and Radeon GPUs

AMD EPYC Powers Tyan Servers for Data-intensive Computing

Atos Adds AMD processors to BullSequana X Line of Supercomputers

Last week at SC18, Atos announced support for AMD EPYC processors in its upcoming BullSequana X range of supercomputers. The next generation AMD EPYC processor (codenamed Rome) is expected to be available in Atos’ new BullSequana XH2000 liquid cooled supercomputer in 2019.

AMD Goes Full 7nm with EPYC Rome Processor

Today AMD unveiled its upcoming 7nm compute and graphics product portfolio designed to extend the capabilities of the modern datacenter. During the event, AMD shared new specifics on its upcoming “Zen 2” processor core architecture, detailed its revolutionary chiplet-based x86 CPU design, launched the 7nm AMD Radeon Instinct MI60 graphics accelerator and provided the first public demonstration of its next-generation 7nm EPYC™ server processor codenamed “Rome.”
